Bullgod Speaks on Shatta Wale’s Defamation Case and Its Impact on His Brand
Artiste manager Bullgod has opened up about how Shatta Wale’s defamation case affected his brand, mental health, and business opportunities. The controversy stems from murder allegations made by the dancehall musician, which led to a legal battle between the two.
Shatta Wale Yet to Fulfill Settlement Terms
In an interview on Accra FM with Nana Romeo on February 19, 2025, Bullgod revealed that despite reaching a court-mediated agreement, Shatta Wale has not paid his legal fees or issued a public apology as required.
“I sued him for GH¢1 million for defamation of character. It was never about the money but about setting the record straight. We reached a settlement where he was supposed to cover my legal costs and apologize publicly, but he hasn’t done that,” Bullgod explained.
Defamation Case Impacted Bullgod’s Brand and Mental Health
Bullgod shared how Shatta Wale’s defamation case had a lasting effect on his personal and professional life.
“It haunted me for years. I lost some business opportunities because of it. But looking back, I believe it was part of God’s plan. Some people may now hesitate to work with me, while others respect me more. It’s a win-win situation,” he added.
Background of the Legal Battle
In November 2022, Shatta Wale accused Bullgod of being involved in the murder of Fennec Okyere, the late manager of Kwaw Kese. This led Bullgod to file a defamation lawsuit, seeking a court ruling to declare Shatta Wale’s accusations as false and malicious.
By March 2023, reports suggested that both parties were open to an out-of-court settlement, where Shatta Wale was expected to pay damages and issue a public apology. However, Bullgod has confirmed that Shatta Wale has not fulfilled these obligations, prompting the case to return to court.

As the case unfolds, Bullgod remains focused on restoring his reputation and ensuring justice is served. The court is expected to reaffirm its directive, compelling Shatta Wale to honor the settlement terms.
