The Presidential candidate of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyerematen has promised to introduce measures that would improve the lives of all residents in the Zongo communities if he is elected.
One of the most important parts of his approach is the provision of Arabic school teachers into the GES to ensure they are paid reasonable salary for their important services.
Mr Kyerematen also stated that he would enroll all teachers in Arabic schools (Makaranta) into a government salary support programme if he assumes the presidency.
Addressing the launch of his party’s Zongo wing called Zumunta at Darkuman in Accra, Mr. Kyerematen faulted both the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the New Democratic Congress (NDC) parties for neglecting Zongo communities despite voting them into power.
It is here that he seized the opportunity and called for change and painted a picture of a new Ghana.
He stated “It’s unfortunate that Makaranta teachers are not recognized as part of the Ghana Education Service because teachers are teachers everywhere. I am committed to ensuring that when I become President, Makaranta teachers will be integrated into the GES,”
