Seth Panwum, the NSA chairman, has given a surety that the Baba Yara Sports Stadium is going to be ready for Ghana’s match in the 2025 AFCON qualifier.
The Black Stars are fixed to face the Palancas Negras in the group F match on the 5th of September, the match is expected to start at 16:00 GMT.
After a five day crusade event held at the stadium the pitch had eroded and this was a worry for everyone. But in an interview in GTV Sports Plus, Panwum was confident to say that the pitch is set and can rectify the standards to the upcoming game. “The place was given out for a program. I had to review their recovery plan, you know, and I think they are right on track. I had an update from Kumasi, and I think all hands are on deck to meet the deadline. I think in a few days, the pitch should be in 200% perfect condition for the game.
“The contractor was also at the site to put some finishing touches on the media centre and the press centre. You know, it’s one point that CAF doesn’t compromise on,” he added.
