Leaders Barcelona stunned at home by Las Palmas

Barcelona’s poor run in La Liga continued with a surprising 2-1 loss at home to Las Palmas, marking their third consecutive game without a win.

After a defeat to Real Sociedad and a draw against Celta Vigo, this latest setback puts Barcelona’s position at the top of the table in jeopardy, as Real Madrid could overtake them with their two games in hand.

The match remained goalless in the first half, but four minutes after the break, former Barcelona forward Sandro capitalized on a counterattack to give Las Palmas the lead.

Barcelona responded quickly, with Raphinha leveling the score six minutes later with a stunning low strike from 25 yards, having earlier hit the crossbar. However, defensive frailties proved costly for the hosts. Fabio Silva showcased brilliant skill and composure, creating space between Barcelona’s center-backs before firing home the decisive goal.

The defeat leaves Barcelona four points clear of Real Madrid at the top, while Las Palmas climbed to 14th place, moving up from their precarious position just above the relegation zone.
