Being the first Ghanaian singer to exceed 500 million streams on Boomplay, a prominent digital music platform, has solidified Black Sherif’s place in music history. Boomplay shared the news of this historic achievement on X, the original name of Twitter, with the description, “KILOS MILLIONS! With 500 million cumulative streams on Boomplay, Iron Boy, the pacesetter @blacksherif_, and his supporters deserve special congratulations.

In response to his significant accomplishment, Black Sherif said, “This is a dream come true,” and he was thankful for their constant support. I am incredibly appreciative of my fans’ love and support from Ghana and beyond. I’m excited to share more music with you all—this is just the beginning. “Second Sermon,” his follow-up single, cemented his place among Ghana’s most promising musicians. The Kilos Milos hitmaker’s quick ascent to stardom has been characterised by a string of hit albums, each of which seems to be becoming bigger and bigger.

He has cemented his position as the current 3 Music Awards Artiste of the Year, having won the 2023 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year. Furthermore, he won the “Best International Flow” category at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards, making history as the second African musician to do so, following Sarkodie.
