Chelsea secured an impressive away victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, with goals from Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez ensuring a 2-1 win in the Premier League.
Jackson opened the scoring in the 15th minute, showcasing his strength and composure. The 23-year-old forward outmuscled Wout Faes to latch onto a long pass, playing a quick one-two with Fernandez before calmly slotting home. It marked his fifth goal in four consecutive away matches.
Fernandez doubled the Blues’ lead before halftime, reacting quickly to head in on the rebound after Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen parried Jackson’s initial attempt. Chelsea dominated the game, enjoying over 66% possession and consistently putting Leicester under pressure.
Leicester struggled to find their rhythm and suffered an early blow when midfielder Harry Winks was forced off with an ankle injury in the 11th minute. Their first real chance came in the 39th minute when Kasey McAteer’s effort narrowly missed the bottom corner on a counterattack. Wilfred Ndidi also squandered a golden opportunity just before the break.
Chelsea continued to control the game in the second half. Noni Madueke had a goal disallowed for offside and inadvertently blocked a goal-bound shot from Cole Palmer on the line. Moises Caicedo and Joao Felix, making his first Premier League start since May 2023, also missed chances to extend the lead.
Leicester were handed a lifeline late in stoppage time when Bobby de Cordova-Reid was brought down in the box by Romeo Lavia. Jordan Ayew converted the penalty in the 95th minute, but it was too little, too late for the Foxes.
The result lifts Chelsea to third in the table with 22 points, while Leicester remains in 16th on 10 points, enduring a difficult return to top-flight football.
