Real Madrid are facing injury setbacks ahead of their highly anticipated LaLiga Clasico against Barcelona, with key players Thibaut Courtois and Rodrygo ruled out due to leg muscle injuries sustained during their 5-2 Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
The club has revealed that Courtois is dealing with a strain in his left adductor, an injury similar to the one he suffered in the LaLiga derby against Atletico Madrid last month. Meanwhile, Rodrygo is set to undergo an MRI scan on Thursday to assess the extent of his leg issue.
Despite the injury, the club remains cautiously optimistic that Rodrygo’s condition might not be serious, and he could potentially return in time for Real Madrid’s clash with Valencia next week.
In addition to these concerns, Real Madrid will also be without captain Dani Carvajal and defender David Alaba, both of whom are sidelined as they recover from ACL injuries. On a brighter note, midfielder Brahim Diaz has returned to training after missing over a month due to a leg injury and could be fit for the Clasico.
With multiple players unavailable, the team faces a challenging road ahead as they prepare for their crucial encounter with arch-rivals Barcelona.
