The Cleveland Cavaliers have become just the eighth team in NBA history to start a regular season with 12 straight wins, securing a 119-113 victory over the Chicago Bulls.
This impressive start is the best since the Golden State Warriors’ historic 2015-16 season, during which they won a record 24 consecutive games. Donovan Mitchell led the way for the Cavaliers with 36 points, while five other players scored in double figures as Cleveland rallied from a nine-point deficit in the third quarter to claim the win.
“We dug deep,” Mitchell said after the game. “For us to continue to be what we want to be, that’s what it’s going to take. It was a complete team win. Every night, it’s somebody different. We’re playing for each other, being selfless. We’ve got to keep it going.”
For the Bulls, Zach LaVine scored 26 points, while Coby White and Nikola Vucevic added 20 each. The loss drops Chicago to 4-7 on the season.
In other action, Victor Wembanyama shone with 34 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists, helping the San Antonio Spurs to a 116-96 win over the Sacramento Kings. Julian Champagnie contributed 13 points, and Chris Paul added 12, with all Spurs starters reaching double figures.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander also had a standout performance, scoring a career-high 45 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 134-128 win over the Los Angeles Clippers. Jalen Williams added 28 points, while Luguentz Dort scored 19. Before the game, the Thunder announced that center Chet Holmgren would be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks due to a pelvic fracture sustained against the Warriors.
Meanwhile, Cam Thomas scored 17 points as the Brooklyn Nets edged past the New Orleans Pelicans 107-105, and the Houston Rockets secured a 107-92 victory over the Washington Wizards.
