I’ll raise $20 billion in my 1st year as President – CPP flagbearer Nana Frimpomaa Kumankumah

The presidential candidate for the Convention People’s Party (CPP), 2024, Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah has laid out her goals upon assuming the presidency, chief of which is to mobilize $ 20 billion in one year in case she gets elected. Her main achievement can be stated on the improvement of youth’s quality of life in Ghana through capital and employment.

Delivering her interview on Joy News on Friday, September 6, Nana Frimpomaa called for youth to be given the top priority saying youths have always been abandoned. She explained why it is important for them to solve them and also why every youth in Ghana should be able to access funds and decent employment.

She emphasised that her focus will be on human capital development rather than large infrastructure projects. “I plan to invest this $20 billion not into major infrastructure, but directly into the youth, empowering them with the resources they need to succeed in various sectors of the economy.”

However, unlike most leaders who are pro big giant infrastructure projects, Nana Frimpomaa will seek to put capital in people. She also said that the $20 billion would go into providing capacities for youths in several economic fields. “For example, if a young entrepreneur is selling iced kenkey, they will be able to access innovative systems and funding that will allow them to scale up their business. They could pool resources with others to invest in equipment that improves the quality of their product, package it better, and expand their reach,” she made clear.

She also vowed that the prevention of street hawking and the sale of goods in traffic will be stopped in the next 10 years, she said, “I don’t want to see any young person having to carry goods on their head just to earn a living. It’s not a future I want for my children, grandchildren, or any Ghanaian.”

Nana Frimpomaa ensured the youths that the monies she intends to generate will not be through borrowing but through properly business models which will generate real cash for the support of the youths. “I’ve been an entrepreneur all my life. I will not borrow this money. I know how to generate revenue through business, and that is what I plan to do for Ghana,” she concluded.
