Ghana’s producer price inflation falls to 30.4% by September 2024.

Ghana’s Producer Price Inflation (PPI) eased slightly in September 2024, dropping to 30.4 percent from the 33.2 percent recorded in August. This marks a year-on-year decline of 2.8 percentage points.

On a month-to-month basis, the change between August and September was a modest increase of 0.6 percent.

Despite the overall decline in producer prices, some sectors continued to face inflationary pressures. The industry sector, excluding construction, saw inflation decrease to 43.0 percent in September, down from 44.6 percent in the previous month. However, the construction sector experienced a rise, with inflation climbing to 23.2 percent in September.

The services sector recorded a notable decline in inflation, dropping to 12.3 percent in September compared to 14.0 percent in August.

While the overall trend shows a reduction, specific industries continue to face significant inflationary challenges, especially within construction and key industrial sectors.
