The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has revealed that direct flights between London Gatwick Airport and Kumasi’s Prempeh I International Airport (PIA) are set to commence on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
In a statement, GACL announced the partnership with Ethiopian Airlines to launch this new route, which is expected to strengthen travel connections between Ghana and the United Kingdom.
The initial flight schedule is as follows:
- Departure from London Gatwick: 2:10 AM
- Arrival at Prempeh I International Airport, Kumasi: 9:05 AM
- Departure from Prempeh I International Airport, Kumasi: 11:00 AM
- Arrival at London Gatwick: 6:00 PM
To cater to travelers during the holiday season, an additional flight is planned for December 15, 2024. GACL noted that more details about future flight schedules will be released soon.
This development marks a significant milestone in enhancing accessibility and convenience for travelers between Ghana’s Ashanti Region and the UK.
