National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama has posed five pointed questions to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also the presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). The questions address Ghana’s mounting economic challenges, including escalating national debt, exchange rate depreciation, and high inflation.
At a campaign rally, Mr. Mahama contrasted his approach with Dr. Bawumia’s previous tactic of posing 170 questions to the then-Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur during the 2016 elections. “Instead of 170 questions, I’ll focus on just five critical issues,” Mahama stated.
In a final question, Mr. Mahama critiqued Dr. Bawumia’s shift of focus from economic management to digitalization initiatives, saying, “Why has he shifted from managing the economy to focusing on digitalization?”
In response, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, spokesperson for Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team, announced on social media that answers to Mahama questions are prepared and forthcoming.
