I look up to Mohammed Kudus – West Ham attacker

West Ham forward Crysencio Summerville has shed light on the celebration he shared with teammate Mohammed Kudus after scoring the opener in their 2-1 win over Manchester United.

Summerville, who joined West Ham from Leeds United, put his team ahead in the 74th minute by tapping in a loose shot from Danny Ings after a well-placed pass from Jarrod Bowen inside the box. After scoring, the 22-year-old removed his shirt and ran nearly 50 yards to celebrate with Kudus, who was in the stands, suspended for the match. The two embraced, clearly thrilled by the moment.

Following the game, Summerville revealed he had made a promise to Kudus, expressing his admiration for the Ghanaian player both on and off the pitch. “Yeah, we’re very close. I have a lot of respect for Mo [Kudus]. He’s someone I look up to as a player and a person. I told him I’d score and come celebrate with him, so that’s what I did,” Summerville explained. He also highlighted the strong team spirit within West Ham, adding, “We’re a tight group, and the atmosphere in the squad is fantastic. I’m thrilled with the win, and we can build on this as we go into next week.”

Manchester United equalized in the 81st minute when Casemiro scored a header after a string of passes, setting the game on course for a draw. However, a controversial penalty awarded in the final moments tipped the scales in West Ham’s favor. Jarrod Bowen converted the spot-kick, sealing the 2-1 victory for the Hammers.

West Ham now looks ahead to their next match against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday, hoping to extend their winning streak.
