Nicolas Jackson signs new long-term Chelsea contract

Nicolas Jackson has committed his future to Chelsea by signing a two-year contract extension, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2033.

The Senegalese forward initially joined the club in June 2023 on an eight-year contract set to run until 2031. However, after a strong debut season, Chelsea has decided to extend his stay.

Jackson, 23, netted 17 goals in 44 appearances for The Blues last season and has continued to impress in the current 2024/25 campaign, scoring twice in just three Premier League matches. The club sees Jackson as a key figure in their long-term plans.

“I am feeling very good and am very happy to sign a new contract and stay at the club,” Jackson told the Chelsea club website.

“It feels great the club has confidence in me. I am working very hard. I am very happy to extend my contract and stay here for many years.”

Nicolas Jackson, who began his football journey later than most, made his move to Europe in 2019 from Senegal, joining Villarreal. He later spent time on loan at Mirandés before making a significant impact in La Liga during the 2022/23 season, where he scored 12 goals in 26 matches.

Now at Chelsea, Jackson is part of a diverse array of attacking talent under manager Enzo Maresca, including Christopher Nkunku, Cole Palmer, Jadon Sancho, and Marc Guiu. Chelsea currently sits 11th in the Premier League, with Jackson contributing goals against Wolves and Crystal Palace. The Blues have earned four points from their opening three matches.
