For many years, the National Lottery Authority (NLA) has brought excitement, joy, and wealth to its patrons through its thrilling games and draws. Since its inaugural draw on September 29, 1962, where the grand prize was 5,000 pounds, the NLA has continuously offered life-changing rewards, with today’s lucky winners taking home up to 200,000 cedis.
At the heart of these life-changing moments is the NLA’s Draw Studio, Brennan Hall. This studio, built approximately 30 years ago under the leadership of Colonel Martin Gbikpi, Director-General of the then Department of National Lotteries (DNL) from 1993 to 2001, is the central hub where numbers are drawn daily, and dreams come true.
Driven by a vision to elevate the NLA’s operations to meet the standards of the World Lottery Association (WLA), current Director-General Samuel Awuku, alongside the NLA Governing Board, embarked on a major refurbishment of Brennan Hall. The renovation was completed in two phases: the first, finished in June 2023 and inaugurated in August 2023, focused on modernizing the Draw Studio stage and introducing new, state-of-the-art draw machines.
The second phase involved a complete transformation of the studio, including new furnishings, modern equipment, upgraded washrooms, and extensive branding. The revitalized Brennan Hall was officially unveiled on Friday, October 18, 2024, in a ceremony led by NLA Board Chairman, Mr. Gary Nimako Marfo, Esq. He was joined by fellow Board Members, Director-General Samuel Awuku, Deputy Director-General Ms. Anna Horma Miezah, and KGL Group Chairman Mr. Alex Dadey.
During the commissioning, Mr. Gary Nimako Marfo expressed his gratitude to Mr. Alex Dadey for KGL’s partnership in making the project possible, highlighting the success of public-private partnerships. He also extended appreciation to Electroland Ghana for their support in the project, marking the occasion as a significant milestone in the NLA’s ongoing mission to innovate and enhance its services.
