The National Sports Authority (NSA) has issued a strong warning, cautioning that anyone caught displaying political materials or participating in political protests during the upcoming Black Stars match against Sudan will face arrest. This statement comes in response to reports suggesting that certain groups are planning to use the event to stage protests, particularly against illegal mining (galamsey) and the government.
The NSA reminded the public that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) strictly prohibits political activities or demonstrations during sports events. To ensure compliance, the Authority announced that security forces will be stationed in and around the Accra Sports Stadium to enforce this rule.
Fans attending the match are urged to follow all security measures in place on match day to avoid any risk of arrest or other consequences. The NSA emphasized the importance of keeping the event focused on football and ensuring that political activities do not interfere with the game.
