The highly anticipated showdown between Chelsea and Arsenal will be the highlight of Premier League Matchday 11, with matches set for Saturday, November 9, and Sunday, November 10, 2024.
Chelsea will host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening, November 10, in a clash that will test the progress of Enzo Maresca’s young Chelsea side. The Gunners are firmly established as title contenders, a level the Blues are aiming to reach in the coming seasons.
“We are a young, developing team,” said Maresca. “Arsenal are further along in their journey and have done excellent work over the past few seasons. But our ambition must be to compete with and beat teams like them, especially at home. We need to play at our highest level and have our fans behind us.”
For Arsenal’s Kai Havertz, this match is a chance to face his former club and show his move to North London was a worthwhile one. “Switching from Chelsea to Arsenal was the right decision,” said Havertz. “Chelsea fans weren’t happy when I left, and at first Arsenal fans were unsure, but our relationship has grown. I’m proud and happy to be part of this club.”
In addition to the Chelsea-Arsenal showdown, Matchday 11 includes other exciting fixtures, such as Brighton & Hove Albion hosting Manchester City and Aston Villa visiting Anfield to take on Liverpool, both scheduled for Saturday evening, November 9.
“Liverpool press relentlessly when you have the ball, and when they have it, it’s tough to win back,” said Villa manager Unai Emery. “They’re well-structured with strong players in every position, a talented squad, and a great coach.”
