“The Vice-Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has left for Harare, Zimbabwe to finally discharge her duties as Chancellor of the Women’s University in Africa.” The following action, according to James Agyenim-Boateng, spokesperson for the NDC running mate, will enable Professor Opoku-Agyemang to focus on the 2024 presidential campaign of John Mahama.
Throughout her seven-year affiliation as Chancellor of the university, Professor Opoku-Agyemang contributed greatly in improving the university’s effectiveness and capacity in the management of its resources. The statement highlighted her role in establishing educational programs for women who could not attend college before, as well as young women who were not allowed to attend high school.
Some of her contributions were: She ensured that Women’s University in Africa became attractive to women by offering flexible education and establishing programs, which included skills base and applicable theoretical courses, that filled the gap between the classroom and the workplace.
