Two District Chief Executives Resign; Regional Ministers to Temporarily Take Over Roles

The Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development has confirmed the resignation of two District Chief Executives (DCEs) in line with Section 20(3)(c) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).

The resigning DCEs are Edward Owusu, Municipal Chief Executive for the Atebubu-Amantin Municipal Assembly in the Bono East Region, and Millicent Kabuki Carboo, District Chief Executive for the Biakoye District Assembly in the Oti Region.

Following their resignation, the respective Regional Ministers will temporarily take on the roles of District Chief Executives for the two assemblies until the President appoints permanent replacements.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Ministry expressed its appreciation for the valuable contributions and dedicated service provided by Owusu and Carboo towards the development of their regions.
