Arsenal seal loan move for Chelsea’s for Sterling

Chelsea’s star striker Raheem Sterling has joined their English Premier League rival Arsenal on a season-long loan deal. It has emerged that the 29-year-old has just signed for Mikel Arteta after being deemed surplus to Chelsea’s requirements by the club’s new manager Enzo Maresca.

Sterling moved to Stamford Bridge from Manchester City in July 2022 for a £50 million deal and during his tenure with Chelsea, he participated in 81 matches and netted 19 goals. He was brought to the club as one of the first players after the change of ownership by Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly. However, despite playing in 43 league matches in the previous season, Sterling had to sit out as Chelsea made more than £200million worth of acquisitions this summer.

Although there were preliminary connections to a transfer to Manchester United, the chance to sign for Arsenal arose during the final period of the transfer season.
