The judiciary has reiterated its commitment to swiftly addressing election-related disputes before, during, and after the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo made this assurance during a dialogue with the Christian Council of Ghana in Accra. She was joined by members of the Judiciary’s Elections Management Committee, led by His Lordship Paul Baffoe Bonnie, and the Judicial Secretary, Justice Cyra Pamela C.A. Koranteng.
The judiciary’s efforts will be guided by the upcoming launch of the 5th edition of the Manual on Election Adjudication. The Elections Management Committee has also been engaging key stakeholders, including the National Peace Council, the Electoral Commission, and political parties, to ensure smooth proceedings throughout the election period.
In addition, judges across the country have undergone extensive training to handle election-related cases efficiently. The judiciary remains focused on upholding a fair, transparent, and credible electoral process through continuous training, public education, and stakeholder collaboration.
