Thomas Partey found the back of the net, as Arsenal was able to secure victory over their cunning counterparts in the match, Aston Villa, at Villa Park.
The match was all about great goals and outstanding saves; Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya, in particular, made an unbelievable reflex save to deny Ollie Watkins an equalizer.
On the other hand, Villa’s Emi Martinez could have wished better as he failed to hold Partey’s shot and hence gifted Arsenal a monumental two-goal lead.
Aston Villa had been on the back foot particularly after Watkins squandered a one-on-one chance earlier in the match.
However, after Raya made a brilliant one-handed save against Watkins and after Amadou Onana shot hit the bar, Arsenal began to dominate the match.
Taking the field and making an immediate impact, Leandro Trossard puts the ball in the back of the net as soon as he enters the pitch; the same can be said of Partey, who extends the lead 10 minutes later.
It was Partey’s first goal of the season, however, it feels like sweet revenge given that Villa had double over Arsenal in the previous season.
