Ghanaian defender Abdul Rashid Adam has begun trials with Premier League side West Ham United, where he will train with the club’s youth team over the coming weeks.
The 18-year-old left-back, currently playing for Benab FC in Ghana’s Division 2, has already impressed the Hammers’ technical team, including West Ham’s Technical Director, Tim Steidten, who gave the go-ahead for Adam to join the club’s U18 squad for training.
Adam, a promising young talent, has already represented Ghana at the U20 level, playing for the Black Satellites. Known for his versatility, he is capable of playing both as a left-back and a left-sided centre-back.
Adam hopes to replicate the success of fellow Ghanaian Joseph Anang, who earned a permanent spot at West Ham following a successful trial. This opportunity could be a major step forward in the young defender’s career as he looks to gain valuable experience in one of Europe’s top football leagues.
