The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, kicked off his #Mahama4Change2024 campaign tour in the Greater Accra Region on Sunday, September 15. The tour, which spans eight constituencies, continues today, Monday, September 16, 2024. On the first day, Mahama visited Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro, Weija Gbawe, Okaikoi Central, and Okaikoi North. For the second day, he will focus on Shai Osudoku, Kpone Katamanso, Madina, and Dome Kwabenya.
At a campaign event in Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro, Mahama pledged that an NDC government would conduct an audit to verify the authenticity of road construction projects claimed by the current administration. He expressed doubt about the reported construction of over 12,000 kilometers of roads by Nana Akufo-Addo’s government, citing insufficient visible evidence to support this claim.
During his visit to Okaikoi Central, Mahama urged Ghanaians to back the NDC’s push for a transparent and credible voter register to ensure fair elections. He defended the party’s stance against the Electoral Commission (EC) and encouraged constituents to join the planned demonstration.
In Okaikoi Central, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Baba Sadiq, urged constituents to vote in large numbers for both himself and the flag bearer, John Mahama. He also announced a health walk organized by the NDC scheduled for the upcoming Sunday, with buses provided at pick-up points in Fadama and Abeka.
