Ghana’s Black Stars endured a barren stalemate against Niger on Monday afternoon in Morocco in their second round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. During the initial period of the game Ghana was on the defense as they were unable to stamp their authority on the match and gave Niger too much space and time in their first third of the pitch.

But Ghana were unable to consolidate on the position in the second period and was lack of effective attempts on goal by the Black Stars while conceding the initiative to Niger as the match proceeded.
Niger benefited from this next wave of attacks, at 90+1′, their number 4, defender Oumar Sako, leveled the score line with one that made it 1-1. The result put Ghana to task as they anticipate tough AFCON qualifier match against Sudan who is now coached by Kwasi Appiah-a former Ghana national team coach.
