King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse, will be present at the second Africa Cinema Summit, which will take place at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel from October 7–10, 2024. A three-day event, the Africa Cinema Summit invites global stakeholders from the cinema industry value chain to Africa. The summit is special because it’s the first of its kind to take place in Africa and because it addresses the peculiarities of the African film industry together with its many prospects and problems.
Filmmakers from twenty African nations travelled to Ghana for the inaugural summit last year, where they participated in a variety of talks about the development of the film industry on the continent. The goal of this year’s edition is to promote cooperation, creativity, and long-term growth while further solidifying the advancements achieved in the African film industry. The 2024 meeting will centre on how rising local content production and consumption quality is bolstering the argument for more funding for movie theatres.
The King was formally invited to the African Cinema Summit by the National Film Authority (NFA), who paid him a visit on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Tackie King In his acceptance speech, Teiko Tsuru II—a lover of the arts and a former participant in the creative industry—acknowledged the importance of film in preserving culture and the necessity to support the creation of films that convey the story of Ghana. The National Film Authority is fighting for a cause that The Ga Mantse promised to support. He is one of the notable attendees of the conference this year.
