Public Services Workers Union to Launch Nationwide Strike on October 21 Over Unpaid Allowances

The Public Services Workers Union (PSWU) is set to embark on a nationwide strike on Monday, October 21, in response to the Ministry of Finance’s failure to pay allowances to its members under the Single Spine Salary Structure.

If the strike proceeds as planned, operations of the Electoral Commission and other public services are expected to come to a standstill.

Union leaders have expressed that the government has not treated PSWU members fairly, highlighting that many have been shortchanged over the past decade since the implementation of the Single Spine pay policy.

More updates to follow as the situation develops.
