Arsenal staged a dramatic late comeback, scoring twice in stoppage time to secure a thrilling victory over Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium.
A 94th-minute Wilfred Ndidi own goal followed by a Kai Havertz strike in the ninth minute of added time broke Leicester’s hearts, as they were poised to leave with a hard-fought point after overcoming a two-goal deficit in the second half.
The Gunners had dominated the first half, taking the lead through Gabriel Martinelli, who calmly finished Jurrien Timber’s cross. Martinelli then turned provider, setting up Leandro Trossard for Arsenal’s second goal just before the half-time whistle.
Leicester, who had barely made an impact in the first half, found new life immediately after the break. James Justin pulled one back for the Foxes, his header from a Facundo Buonanotte free-kick deflecting in off Havertz.
Justin then leveled the score with a spectacular volley, meeting Ndidi’s cross with a shot that swerved past David Raya, hitting the inside of the post before finding the net.
Despite the momentum shift, Arsenal regained control and began to apply heavy pressure. Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen pulled off two brilliant saves, first blocking a close-range effort from Havertz and then stopping Trossard after a defensive mistake.
Arsenal’s persistence paid off late on when Trossard’s shot was deflected by Ndidi, wrong-footing Hermansen for the equalizer. Moments later, Havertz sealed the win by finishing from close range to complete the dramatic turnaround.
The win moves Arsenal level on points with Manchester City at the top of the table, with Liverpool potentially overtaking both teams if they beat Wolves later in the day.
