John Dramani Mahama, who is the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has today submitted his presidential nomination forms for 2024 general elections. These forms were taken to the Electoral Commission (EC) by the National Chairman of the NDC namely Johnson Asiedu Nketia on Monday specifically on the 9th of September this year.
Joining Mr. Asiedu Nketia were senior figures of the NDC that included the General Secretary Fifi Kwetey, the Director of IT and Elections Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and other officials.
After the submission, Mr. Asiedu Nketia stated believe that Electoral Commission will respond to all the problems that NDC held regarding the election process and in a bid to come to a consensus.
Earlier in February this year, EC Chairperson Jean Adukwei Mensa said that the upcoming election would be peaceful, transparent and free. The Commission has put together a team of lawyers to scrutinize the nomination forms forwarded by any presidential hopeful to conform to the required specification.
Madam Mensa also suggested that the aspirants have been given a five-day window starting Monday September 9 to file their forms a situation which the aspirants have welcomed greatly especially due to a fact that filing of the forms used to take only two days. This additional time ensures that the aspirants can fix any mistakes which they may have made in the submissions.
