George Agyei Frempong, the Assemblyman for the Oguaa electoral area in New Juaben South municipality in the Eastern Region, tragically passed away from electrocution on Saturday afternoon.
In his late thirties, Agyei Frempong was electrocuted while attempting to fix a streetlight within his electoral area. Witnesses reported that Frempong, who was not professionally trained as an electrician, received a shock and fell from the pole. Nearby residents quickly transported him to the Eastern Regional Hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
A well-known carpenter, Agyei Frempong was elected as the assemblyman for the Oguaa electoral area during the most recent district assembly elections.
