Black Princesses leave for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

The Black Princesses, Ghana’s U-20 women’s national team, departed for Colombia to compete in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, the squad left Accra and traveled to Bogota to continue getting ready for the event, which starts on August 31. Ghana is participating in its seventh World Cup in a row, and the team hopes to make it past the group stages for the first time.

The Black Princesses are paired with Austria, New Zealand, and Japan, the previous champions, in Group E. On September 2, 2024, Ghana will play its first match of the tournament against Austria. Games against Japan and New Zealand will then follow.

The squad has been preparing for the World Cup since their gold medal win at the African Games in March 2024.
