In Bole town, a series of mysterious murders are happening and the once peace town has been turned into a fearful town. It is now a town on the state of fear, with families burying their kin gone in the recent acts of violence and curfews at night.
About the same year, 2021 population and housing census revealed that the population of Bole District was 115,800. However, between 2022 and July 2024, 22 people have been killed under mysterious circumstances and most of the corpses were discovered to have had their body parts missing making the killings to be more gruesome.
The latest incident is Yahaya Jajah, 65 years, a father of seven children and the town is still in shock over the cruel treatment of this man. His lifeless dead was found at St. Kizito Primary B, head chopped of in one of the most gruesome murder. Yahaya’s murder is a painful memory for the community of those people who have been killed previously; those who hoped that such incidents ceased, and now has become reduced to Hell.
To the surprise of the police no leads have been produced for sometime now and the members of the public are living in fear. In response, being a threat to the internal peace of Bole, the residents of Bole have started grouping in order to seek comfort in numbers.
Due to such violence, the Bole District Assembly has not remained idle, it ensured that street lights were put in all the major streets of the town as a preventive measure against such attacks. The Member of Parliament for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Yussif Sulemana, has also urged for more support towards the local watchdog committee; formed by the Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area to observe and ensure the protection of the community.
Due to the ruthlessness of the murder and the inexplicable nature of the killings many youths of Bole have come together Concerned Citizens of Bole to demonstrate against heinous acts. They are the voice of the community who has been struggling and crying for justice and wanting to have a normal life again.
The current overlord of the Bole Traditional Area is Boweura Kutugefeso I who expressed concern in the incident but at the same time has confidence in the security forces to apprehend the culprits.
Just when it seemed that everything was lost, this hope arrived in the form of a specialized team of investigators who has been commissioned by the Police Administration to help out the Regional Police Command. They have been noted to have forced the declined number of deaths over the last six months which has in one way or the other eased the pressure on the residents.
But due to the presence of police force coupled by continuing investigation processes, the inhabitants of Bole are gradually developing a hopeful feeling. People seem to keep clinging to hope that one day all the individuals involved in the horrible acts will be apprehended and punished for what they have done; this nightmare has lasted long enough in their town.
