Following promising polling numbers from Global Infoanalytics, John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is set to take his campaign to the North East, the home region of his main opponent, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP. Mahama plans to visit the palace of the late Gambaga chief and pay homage to Naa Bohagu Abdulai Sheriga, the overlord of the Mamprugu traditional area.
During his two-day Campaign to Walewale, Dr. Bawumia’s hometown, Mahama aims to engage constituents and reinforce his party’s message ahead of the upcoming elections. His itinerary includes a series of rallies and meetings with community leaders, party supporters, and stakeholders.
This campaign effort aligns with Mahama’s broader strategy to mobilize support and present his vision for Ghana, focusing on critical issues such as education, healthcare, and economic development. The North East Region, known for its rich cultural heritage and agricultural potential, is a key area for Mahama’s outreach.
Through community engagements and durbars, Mahama hopes to connect with voters, address their concerns, and demonstrate the NDC’s commitment to enhancing the lives of Ghanaians in the region. The NDC is particularly focused on winning the Walewale seat from the NPP, especially following recent internal challenges within the ruling party.
