The Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) has introduced entrepreneur Elizabeth Sam as its vice-presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, alongside the party’s presidential candidate, Percival Kofi Akpaloo. The unveiling took place during the party’s manifesto launch on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the OLA Ho Assembly Hall, where Sam received a standing ovation from the crowd.
Sam, a married mother of three, pledged her commitment to support Mr. Akpaloo in promoting inclusivity, equality, and opportunities for all Ghanaians. She urged voters to elect Akpaloo as president for a better Ghana. The LPG manifesto, themed “A Better Tomorrow: A New Plan for Jobs and Wealth Creation,” focuses on breaking the NDC-NPP duopoly and alleviating poverty in the country.
Key proposals in the manifesto include a USD 10 billion Jobs Fund to support young entrepreneurs, monthly child maintenance and unemployment benefits, free university education, and fixing all roads within four years. Akpaloo also outlined plans for a new national capital city in central Ghana to boost development and reduce congestion. The party’s National Chairman, John Amekah, emphasized that Ghanaians are eager for the brighter future promised in the manifesto.
