Cristiano Ronaldo scores his 900th career goal in Croatia win

Cristiano Ronaldo reached a career milestone by scoring his 900th goal as Portugal defeated Croatia 2-1 in their first UEFA Nations League match in Lisbon.

The 39-year-old forward marked the occasion by finishing off a cross from Nuno Mendes in the 34th minute at the Estádio da Luz, celebrating the landmark goal with visible emotion.


Portugal initially took the lead through a goal by Diogo Dalot. Ronaldo’s strike doubled their advantage, but an own-goal by Dalot just before halftime brought Croatia back into the game.

The match was part of Group A1 in the latest edition of the Nations League, which also includes Poland and Scotland. Portugal will next face Scotland in Lisbon on Sunday.
