Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs accused of sexually assaulting teenager in new lawsuits

Sean “Diddy” Combs, the renowned music mogul, faces a wave of new lawsuits alleging rape, sexual abuse, and assault. Filed on Monday in New York federal court, the suits include accusations from two women and four men, spanning incidents from 1995 to 2021.

Among the allegations, one lawsuit claims that Combs raped a 19-year-old college student in 2004 at a private party in a hotel. The plaintiff, who met Combs during a photoshoot, alleged that he molested and raped her despite her repeated protests. The accusers also include a man who was 16 at the time of the alleged abuse. He claims Combs assaulted him during one of his infamous parties in the Hamptons in 1998, presenting the encounter as a “rite of passage” in the music industry.

Tony Buzbee, a Texas-based attorney representing the accusers, announced that these lawsuits are just the beginning, stating that over 100 individuals are preparing to sue Combs for sexual exploitation, rape, and abuse. Buzbee emphasized that some of the alleged victims are minors and the cases are being brought under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, allowing older claims to be filed. He also suggested that many more lawsuits could be forthcoming in the coming weeks.

These latest lawsuits follow more than a dozen similar claims against Combs, which he has consistently denied. His legal team responded to the recent allegations, stating, “Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman.”

One male accuser shared his experience of being assaulted at a 1998 Hamptons party, where he encountered Combs while attending an A-list event. After initiating a conversation about the music industry, the man alleges that Combs led him to a private area and demanded he undress, describing it as a “rite of passage” for those who wanted to make it in the industry.

Combs’ legal battles have escalated further, with federal charges for racketeering and sex trafficking also looming. He has been detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest on September 16, with his lawyers fighting for his release, citing poor jail conditions. However, the request for bail was denied, as a judge deemed Combs a “serious flight risk.”

Combs’ trial for the federal criminal charges has been tentatively scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025.
