According to a medical report obtained, the 16-year-old driver, Elrad Salifu Amoako, involved in the October 12 Jaguar crash that resulted in two fatalities in East Legon has been discharged from the University Of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) and is currently recovering and mobilizing with restricted weight-bearing on his right leg.
On October 12, 2024, Amoako was driving a Jaguar SUV with registration number GN 7801 – 20, accompanied by one passenger, when he collided with a 4×4 Acura, registration GR 2542 – 23, at Mensah Wood Street, East Legon. The Acura, driven by Joseph Ackah with four passengers onboard, caught fire along with the Jaguar, resulting in both vehicles burning beyond recognition.
Police investigations revealed that, of the five occupants in the Acura, three were rescued, while two passengers, identified as 12-year-olds Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, tragically lost their lives. The two surviving passengers, who sustained minor injuries, received treatment and were later discharged.
The families have since laid Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh to rest as the case continues to be monitored.
