The legendary musician from Ghana, Ebo Taylor, has dropped a new song called “Obi Do Woa,” which is off his upcoming album “Jazz is Dead 021,” which will be out in October. The renowned highlife pioneer is showing no signs of slowing down, as evidenced by his recent musical appearances at the Festivalle in Sicily, Hootananny in Brixton, UK, and We Out Here Festival.
This song, which perfectly showcases his rich and distinctive vocal skill, serves as the ideal preface to the eagerly anticipated album featuring Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad. Together with a few Ghanaian musicians from the Ebo Taylor Family band, the song was produced at the Linear Labs studio in Los Angeles.
The driving forces behind this initiative, Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, stated that it was a great privilege to collaborate with the Ghanaian legend. The global movement “Jazz Is Dead” is felt throughout culture and community. The movement was started in 2017 and is spearheaded by veteran Adam Block, music producers Adrian Younge, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and concert producer Andrew Lojero.
They journey throughout the globe in pursuit of uncommon records and their creators. ‘Jazz Is Dead’ uses live performances, new analogue recordings, and visual elements to pay tribute to the musical legacies of these icons, including the 89-year-old Ebo Taylor. The third version of the group’s compilation is titled “Jazz Is Dead 021”.
Jazz Is Dead has organised a North American tour with Ebo Taylor. The Ghanaian musician will also be making his first appearances in Mexico and Brazil. Ebo Taylor will begin performing in Los Angeles on October 9th, accompanied by Pat Thomas and his family band.Tour Dates & Cities;
