On August 1, 2024, the Electoral Commission (EC) declared that nominations for the elections of president and members of parliament will be accepted by the Commission from Monday, September 9, 2024, to Friday, September 13, 2024, in accordance with Regulations 6, 7, and 8 of the Public Elections Regulations, 2020 (C.I. 127). 69 people have selected nomination papers to run as independent parliamentary candidates, according to sources close to the Electoral Commission.
