Elevator At Korle Bu Surgical Department Fixed

Following the conclusion of repairs to one of the malfunctioning elevators serving the multi-story department, the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital’s surgical department will begin performing elective procedures today. Concerns were raised by patients and other caregivers when the elevator broke down and such operations were shelved in favor of treating only emergency cases.Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the ranking Member of Parliament’s Health Committee, was also drawn to it and went to the surgical department to evaluate the situation.

On Facebook last week, the hospital’s management refuted rumors that the surgical section had closed because of the broken elevators, assuring fans that repairs were being made to one of the elevators. After noticing that the lifts were not working, Mr. Akandoh, the Member of Parliament for Juaboso Constituency, gave the hospital administration a deadline to fix the issue, even if it was only temporary, in order to prevent a serious consequence.
