President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea has officially dismissed Baltasar Ebang Engonga from his role as Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), following his recent imprisonment on corruption charges linked to a high-profile scandal involving explicit videos.
The presidential decrees formalizing this decision were issued on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Zenón Obiang Obiang Avomo, a seasoned legal expert and former magistrate at Equatorial Guinea’s Court of Accounts, has been appointed as the new Director General of ANIF.
