Ernest Nuamah, a Ghanaian international, was hurt during Olympique Lyon’s Saturday night loss to AS Monaco. After hurting his thigh 17 minutes into the game, the winger was replaced. After being started in the opening weekend’s loss to Rennes, Nuamah was named in the starting lineup for the second straight game.
Lyon ultimately suffered a 2-0 defeat to Monaco in the match. With only two weeks until the Black Stars’ Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola, Nuamah’s ailment may cause concern. On September 5, Ghana will play host to Angola at Baba Yara Stadium before travelling to Niger for the second group match.
