The Agriculture Ministry has announced that Ghana’s 40th National Farmers’ Day will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024. The celebration will occur in the Greater Accra Region, with the main event hosted at the Alisa Hotel in North Ridge, starting at 4:00 p.m.
In a press release from Acting Chief Director Paul Siameh, it was noted that there will be no regional celebrations this year. Instead, each region is invited to select winners for ten award categories. These regional awardees will then travel to Accra to be honored during the national Awards Night Ceremony.
At this ceremony, Regional Ministers will present the awards to the honorees from their regions. The Ministry has instructed that all expenses related to the winners’ participation—including travel, accommodation, and meals—will be covered by their respective Regional Coordinating Councils.
Additionally, Regional Ministers and Regional Directors of Agriculture are expected to attend the ceremony, with their associated costs also managed by their councils. The Ministry underscored the significance of this event, highlighting the essential role that regional representatives play in recognizing the crucial contributions of Ghanaian farmers to the nation’s development.
