The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has initiated a new Online Advertisement Application Portal, marking a significant advancement in the company’s continuous efforts to undergo digital transformation. Participants at the launch ceremony included partners, stakeholders, management, directors, and members of the FDA Executive Committee. It was held in the T.C. Corquaye Conference Room in the FDA offices.
The new site represents a major improvement in service delivery as it simplifies the submission, review, and approval procedure for advertisements for FDA-regulated items. During the launch, Dr. Delese Darko, the CEO of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), emphasised that the platform’s goals are to improve accessibility, convenience, and transparency by enabling users to submit advertisements, pay, and get approvals without having to visit the site in person.
The Public Health Act of 2012 (Act 851), which established the FDA, mandates that it regulate product advertisements. This procedure should be made much simpler by the new platform, which will also provide a transparent and verifiable record of all transactions and communications. The purpose of this action is to guarantee accountability and openness for all parties involved in the advertising process. Working together with Proper-Alliance, an associate of the AFCTA Network Hub, and other important partners allowed for the establishment of the portal. The FDA expressed its appreciation to everyone who helped bring the project to fruition.
The FDA stated that it is committed to making more advancements as it continues to adjust to the changing needs of the business. The new portal is only one of several projects meant to give Ghana’s regulations a secure, open, and effective atmosphere. The FDA invites all interested parties to accept the new platform and work together to uphold the nation’s highest standards for product safety and quality.
