The final roster for the Black Princesses of Ghana’s women’s U-20 team has been announced by head coach Yussif Basigi. The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia is scheduled to begin on August 31 and go through September 22, 2024. After more than a month of training, the team consists of 21 players, including 3 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 6 midfielders, and 7 forwards. The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Group E opponents for the Black Princesses are Japan, Austria, and New Zealand. After losing to Costa Rica in the group stages of the last World Cup, the Black Princesses will be looking to rebuild.
The squad triumphed in the women’s football competition organized in Ghana Some of the players include U.S.-based goalkeeper Jenna Kayla Sarpong and defender Alexandra Emefa Tay, Stella Nyamekye, Mafia Nyame of AS FAR, Salamatu Abdulai, and Mary Amponsah.
