Ghana and Seychelles have taken significant steps to enhance their bilateral ties by signing a Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering collaboration in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), research, and skills development.
The signing of these agreements occurred during the official visit to Ghana by President Wavel Ramkalawan of Seychelles. The MoU on education focuses on cooperation in STEM, research, training, and skills development.
The BASA was signed by Mrs. Mabel Sagoe, Chief Director of the Ministry of Transport, while Mrs. Mamle D. Andrews, Chief Director of the Ministry of Education, signed the MoU on Education. On behalf of Seychelles, Mr. Conrad Mederic, High Commissioner of Seychelles to Ethiopia, signed the agreements.
According to a statement from Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, these new agreements bring the total number of MoUs signed during President Ramkalawan’s visit to Ghana to four.
It said earlier on during the visit, the MoUs in the areas of Culture and Tourism Development were signed on Thursday, 21st November.
