The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have refuted claims that they are planning a coup in the event that this year’s election results are violent.
GAF reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining calm and peace, urging every citizen to feel secure enough to carry out their legal activity.
In a press release issued on Friday, August 23, 2024, Brigadier General E. Aggrey-Quashie, Director General of Public Relations, stated, “GAF has no intention to stage a coup and will prevent and resist any individual, group, or organization seeking to unlawfully take over the power of government, either acting alone or in collaboration with any security agency.”
