A goalless start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

The new 2024/25 Ghana Premier league season started with two stalemates in the weekend matches which the fans who attended the matches and the ones who watched on the Facebook pages and live streams felt dissatisfied.

As the league did not have an official broadcast media partner, the Ghana Football Association assumed the task of providing a live stream of the various fixtures that included Dreams FC against Samartex and Vision FC against Berekum Chelsea.

In the match fixtured at the Accra Sports Stadium, the defending champions Samartex could only manage a barren draw with a ten- man Dreams FC. Dreams had over 60% possession but took only three shots and 52% of those on target, while Samartex took seven attempts at goal. The champions now look forward to their next CAF Champions League match against the Moroccan side Raja Casablanca.

However, it was a stiffer confrontation for newly promoted Vision FC as they only managed a 0-0 draw against Berekum Chelsea on their new home terrain in the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Accra. In second half, Vision FC threatened to score but Berekum Chelsea’s goalkeeper Obeng Sekyere who frustrated Kusi Asante from close range. Both teams had to be content with a draw, Vision looking forward to their next game against the Accra Lions as Berekum Chelsea awaits Karela United in Berekum.

Matchday one is still to continue on Sunday.
