The Ghana U-19 Junior National Badminton team popularly called the Golden Shuttlers returned home to a heroic welcome at the Kotoka International Airport on Friday evening after claiming victory at the just ended 2024 All Africa Youth Badminton Championship in Senegal.
The team performed very well to earn the team three gold medals and one bronze, creating a clear indication of the team’s dominance in the tournament. The mixed team won a victory over Benin with the score of 60-50 in aggregate and the men’s and women’s team won the gold after they beat South Africa and Algeria.
Mr. Yeboah Evans, President of the Badminton Association of Ghana has commended the team for the remarkable achievements which he considered as very beneficial for the growth of the badminton in the country. The Deputy Captain Moslena Ama Korama Adu and Coach Moses Adu also stated that quite fortunate to be a member of the team and proved their commitment to maintain such streak in the next competitions, World Championships being the next in line.
