BREAST CANCER AWARENESS: GRASAG-UCC PAINTS ABURA MARKET PINK!
The Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana, University of Cape Coast (GRASAG-UCC), in collaboration with CAMFED Oguaa Edina Chapter, lit up Abura Market with a vibrant Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, turning the market pink with hope and health!
With the strong support of the GRASAG-UCC leadership, dedicated Postgraduates and CAMFED team, over 500 market men and women received education on breast health. Our team demonstrated self-examination techniques and shared information on preventive measures to help everyone recognize the early signs of breast cancer.
The campaign extended beyond the market, with the teams visiting homes in Abura and also spred awareness in some basic schools.
The outreach was made possible through the Women’s Commission, led by Ms. Augustina Tambile, and the entire GRASAG and CAMFED leadership.
In his closing remarks, the President of GRASAG-UCC, H.E. Robert Ipiin Gnankob highlighted the importance of regular self-examinations and hospital check-ups. He encouraged everyone, especially women, to prioritize their breast health, stating, “Don’t wait until it’s too late. Early detection saves lives.” He advised.
The massive turnout and support from the community showcased the strength of unity in raising awareness. Together, we can continue to spread this important message and fight against breast cancer. 🎗💪🏾
